ANDREY LEONOVITCH

Andrey Leonovitch our Mid and Senior Associates teacher.

Andrey was born in Belarus.
After a long career that has seen him dance all over the world, Andrey recently retired as First Soloist of The Royal Swedish Ballet and is currently a guest Ballet Master at the company.

In 1995, Andrey graduated from The Ballet Academy in Minsk based, where he was i taught the  Vaganova ballet technique . After graduation he joined The National Ballet in Minsk as a soloist.

In 1998, Andrey went to the Poznan Opera House as a Principal Dancer, at the same time he danced as a Guest Principal in the National Ballet of Poland.

In 2001, Andrey joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens
as a Principal Dancer.

Andrey worked as First Soloist at The Royal Swedish Ballet, Operan for over 13 years, from 2004 until 2020

During his international career he developed his
ballet and dance techniques.

Andrey has danced most of the classical repertoire , including:

Swan Lake (prince, Rothbart), Gissele (Albreht), Don Quijote (Espada), Onegin (Onegin), Romeo & Juliet (Romeo, Tybalt), Sleeping Beauty (Prince Desire), Corsaire (Ali, Conrad).

He has also danced many contemporary pieces such as
Juliet and Romeo, Apartment, Rattika by Mats Ek, Jiri Kilian, Ohad Naharin, Staine Selis, Didi Wildman, Nacho Duato and many others .

Andrey has performed at international galas, as well as participating and coaching at  ballet schools in Canada and Poland. He has a strong classical ballet technique and strong contemporary base.

Andrey is married and has two little boys. As a person he is friendly, kind and always willing to help and great with children.
