Age is a guideline for newcomers, moving up levels will be determined by the teacher.
The August 2023 term starts week 35.
BABY BALLET
45 mins - once a week x 14
Baby Ballet is a class for 3-4 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
Learning basic ballet pre-motor skills using story telling and imagination.
All our baby classes are involved in our annual performance.
Classes are accompanied by a Swedish speaking assistant.
PRE-PRIMARY
45 mins - once a week x 14
Pre - primary ballet is for children aged 5 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
This is a basic ballet class developing on the basic motor skills rhythm and ballet motor skills learnt at the baby level.
Learning to tell a story through ballet steps and mime.
All our Pre-primary are involved in our
annual recital and special open days.
Classes are accompanied by a Swedish speaking assistant.
PRIMARY
45 mins - once a week x 14
Primary ballet is for children aged 6 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
At this level we start to take a more detailed look into basic ballet steps, exercises formed to develop increased coordination, musicality and start to focus on flexibility.
All Primary start to learn a dance for cognitive memory and storytelling through movement. All Primary perform in our annual performance and special open days.
Classes are accompanied by a Swedish speaking assistant.
GROUP 1
1hour - once a week x 14
Group 1 ballet is for children aged 7-8 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
The focus is on the in-depth learning of basic ballet terminology. Now the cognitive memory comes into play with expectations of remembering exercises. Arm positions are learnt and ballet steps start to come together. Flexibility is continued from the primary level and students learn expressiveness through dance. All group 1 students perform in our annual recital and special open days.
Classes are accompanied by a Swedish speaking assistant.
GROUP 2
1 hour - once a week x 14
OR 1 hour - twice a week x 14
Group 2 is for children aged 9-10 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
Group 2 are now working at the barre and progressing to the center practice. Increasing terminology, ballet steps and precision. Combinations become more rhythmic and a dance is learnt to increase memory, musicality and spatial awareness. All group 2 students perform in the annual performance and open days. There is also the opportunity to be chosen to enter our Junior Associates Program for pre professional training from this age.
Classes are accompanied by a Swedish speaking assistant.
GROUP 3
1hour - once a week x 14
OR 1 hour - twice a week x 14
Group 3 is for children aged 9-11 years.
Please note ages are a guideline for newcomers, moving up to another level will be determined by the teacher.
Group 3 are now learning more difficult step combinations and terminology. There is an focus on how to deliver ballet steps and we start to look at anatomy and placement.
Musicality and co-ordination of arms and legs is a focus. Group 3 learn a set dance to continue to express through the art form.
GROUP 4
1 hour - 3 classes per week
Group 4 is for children aged 11-12 years.

Group 4 have now developed an understanding of how to deliver their basic ballet steps with correct placement and coordination. Exercise combinations become more detailed and being able to follow the music is a focus.
Group 4 are involved in our annual performance
and special open days. Homework is also given to help remember terminology.
